BlueSquare which is a Rank’s online sports betting subsidiary has announced that it teaming up with one of the best known gambling sites on the web, 888.com.

BlueSquare site will bring their sports betting services to 888 Holdings Plc, and in addition will bring its expertise to 888.com in managing its fixed-odds betting and sports content.

In this partnership 888.com will provide their, payment-processing platform to BlueSquare, this will allow them to expand their market internationally instead of just for the UK market. Rank says, “We will benefit from 888’s international experience and liquidity as we extend our reach beyond the UK.”

A spokesman for 888 says about the deal, “Our analysis shows that a significant proportion of our players bet on sports events occasionally and the inclusion of sports betting in our offering is in line with our focus to aid customer acquisition.”

Ever since the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, banning online gambling in the USA was passed in 2006, 888.com has been fighting its way back to the top by diversifying into other regions and has done very well. This is one more opportunity for them and Bluesquare.com to expand to different markets.

Bluesquare and 888.com will begin their partnership in the first quarter of 2008.
